Mleczko Delicatesy Ltd is a specialist Polish delicatessen with 5 stores in the borough of Ealing selling a wide range of traditional Polish foods including meats, dairy and baked goods.

Polish Stores Accessible to English Speakers

Given the number of Polish people living in Ealing it isn’t surprising that there are a number of specialist Polish shops selling Polish food in the area, but which is the most accessible to the non-Polish speaker who wants to discover a new cuisine, benefit from competitive pricing or shop more locally than in a large supermarket?

Mleczko Delicatesy Ltd started with a single shop in 1995 in Shepherd’s Bush and has grown into a small specialist chain of Polish delicatessen in West London. They opened their first store in the borough of Ealing in Hanwell in 2000. As well as their stores in South Ealing, Hanwell, Greenford and Sudbury Hill they also have shops in the boroughs of Hammersmith and Hounslow.

Each store has between 6 and 15 staff who speak both Polish and English.

The shops are well-supported by the local Polish community in Ealing for the quality of their produce, service and pricing. As well as a loyal customer base here in Ealing, Mleczko Delicatesy Ltd also have customers who regularly travel a long way from outside London to stock up on their traditional Polish food and brands at one of their stores.

The Hanwell store has its own in-store butchers which supplies the other stores with excellent quality meat and traditional cuts.

95% of products stocked in Mleczko Delicatesy Ltd are Polish goods or brands. These include:

  • A wide range of cold and processed meats, including ham, salami and smoked sausages (kielbasa)
  • Fresh meat – especially pork, chicken and sausages
  • Extensive selection of dairy products including traditional Polish sheep’s cheese
  • Freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries including gingerbread
  • Pierogi  traditional Polish dumplings with a variety of fillings
  • Pickles, relishes and soups
  • Tinned and fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Frozen foods
  • Confectionary, chocolates and candies
  • Drinks including Polish beer, spirits and fruit juices
  • Newspapers and magazines

As well as traditional Polish foods, there are staples such as milk, yoghurts, ham etc. available at prices comparable to the increasingly popular supermarket discounters which make the stores attractive to a wider non-Polish market too.

You can be sure of fresh products due to the high turnover and well-organised supply chain which sees 4 trucks per week making deliveries from Poland straight to their warehouse.

There is also a loyalty card scheme to enable repeat customers to benefit from discounts.
