The staff at Carmyllie Primary School feel it is important to establish an environment which is secure, trusting and happy, an environment where learning experiences are the best they can be.

All aspects of the curriculum set up at Carmyllie Primary School contribute to a well balanced education for pupils in attendance.

We aim to;

- Create a caring atmosphere where each child is encouraged to apply themselves to their work with maximum effort and concentration. To teach effectively and to set high standards in work and behaviour.

- To develop each child's capabilities as fully as possible by prescribing work which is appropriately graded to the child's age, aptitude and ability, remembering that each child must receive equal opportunities in all areas of the curriculum, regardless of race or gender.

- To encourage children to embrace the correct attitude and adopt manners which will enable them to become responsible members of the community within which they live.

- To foster regular communication with parents in order to increase their understanding and involvement and thus encourage them to take an active interest in the school and its work.

- To ensure that continuous development and improvement occurs so that the optimum conditions for learning and teaching are present for all.
