In Spring 2014, Alex is aiming to become the youngest Briton ever to climb Mount Everest (8850m) via the Southeast ridge (South side) in Nepal. This will take place as a 70-day expedition in a team led by Tim Mosedale; the same mountaineer that inspired Alex many years ago. He will also become the 2nd youngest Briton to climb Everest, with previous record-holders including well-known adventurer Bear Grylls.
