In April this year, Chepstow hosted its first Walking Weekend attracting 162 walkers and plans are well under way for the 2014 event. In addition, Chepstow Walkers are Welcome won the bid to host next years's National Walkers are Welcome Annual Get Together Conference and will be the first in Wales to host this event.

If you go to the Chepstow Walkers are Welcome website http://www.walksinchepstow.co.uk you will find information about walking in the area, including 'dog friendly walks'. Also of course, there are plenty of places in Chepstow where you can stop for refreshments: Start the day with a coffee and cake at Picnic in St Mary's Street http://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/chepstow/business-guide/feature/picnic and buy one of their delicious baguettes to take with you for lunch. Then, after your walk, treat yourself to a well deserved portion of fish and chips from Weeks Fish and Chips http://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/chepstow/business-guide/feature/weeks-fish-and-chips either to eat in their licensed restaurant or to enjoy at home with your feet up!

So now you have all the information, it is just a matter of putting your walking shoes or boots on and start walking!
