3 tips to help you when buying used parts for a vehicle

Here are a few tips to help you when making a purchase:

Avoid making a mistake with your purchase by providing the dealer with the make, model, registration number, fuel type (diesel/ petrol), gearbox type (manual/ automatic), and part number.  When buying an engine, give the engine code not the engine number.

Alternatively, the dealer may be able to locate the right part for you by checking the registration number of your vehicle.

If you are purchasing a replacement engine, bear in mind that you will need to put in new oil and possibly an oil filter. It is also a good idea to fit a new cam/timing belt (but make sure the belt is timed-up).

If all the above seems complicated, we suggest that you have the engine fitted professionally and this is where a reputable firm such as West Coast Salvage are invaluable. For anyone who is not keen to get under the bonnet of their vehicle, West Coast Salvage offers a comprehensive fitting service, from a small individual switch through to a complete engine.

West Coast Salvage is an experienced and highly regarded independent vehicle salvage company who supply high quality used and new car products along with custom mixed car and vehicle paints and other associated products. They also supply new and partly worn tyres suitable for a wide cross section of vehicles.

In addition, they offer a very good selection of quality used and damaged cars at very competitive prices and provide a free delivery service for all vehicles that are purchased, to anywhere in the United Kingdom.

So, if you require replacement parts for your vehicle, would like a customized re-spray or are looking for a new car, we suggest that you contact West Coast Salvage. Find out more by clicking here http://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/forest-of-dean/business-guide/feature/west-coast-salvage
