Before the construction of St Luke’s Church in the 1850’s, the local community used a school building as a place of worship. As part of its design, St Luke’s was to answer a demand for a more appropriate space for prayer. It holds 1,100 people and is decorated with carvings of angels and notable bishops. This Victorian building is updated whenever possible, notably the recent work on indoor heating and a visuals system. Read more
