Sunday Health Walks Begin
8th April 2013

Volunteers have organised a varied programme of monthly town and countryside walks which will run in addition to the current health walks arranged by the Council.

The walks are open to all and are completely free of charge.  They will take place on the first Sunday of each month throughout the summer months and will last approximately 1hrs. 30mins. to 2 hrs. Several path sections on the walks may be rather muddy so walkers are advised to wear appropriate footwear.

Healthy Lifestyles Development Officer, Rowena Tassell says: “We do get a lot of requests from people who are not able to make our current walks as they are during working hours, so the Sunday Walks provide an ideal solution. We hope they will provide an enjoyable next step for people who have joined our weekly health walks programme and encourage others that have not taken part before to put their best foot forward!”

If you would like more information about the walks or would like to train as a Walking for Health Volunteer Walk Leader, please contact  Rowena Tassell on 01242 775202 or rowena.tassell@cheltenham.gov.uk.
