Bonfire night itself was often a small affair with two or three neighbours and families meeting in one of the larger gardens. There was a small bonfire with as many fireworks as we could collectively afford. Nothing at all like the spectacular displays we now enjoy.
Bonfire Night is a really British institution and Cheltenham is putting on a good display across the town:
Firework Display at Cheltenham Racecourse (3/11/12)
The Round Table Firework Display is recognised as one of the largest in the South West which attracts huge crowds from all over the county. As well as a spectacular firework display there will be a number of entertainments to keep the crowd amused prior to what promises to be a colourful extravaganza.

Firework Display and Bonfire at Bishop's Cleeve Primary School (2/11/12)
The Firework Display is organised by Friends of the school and is complete with guy and bonfire. It is to be held at Bishops Cleeve Primary school ,where a Guy competition will also be held and refreshments served

Leckhampton Scouts Bonfire and Firework Display (3/11/12)
Fun for all the family at this Bonfire and Firework Display which is being held in aid of the scouts.The usual refreshments will be available.
