It’s that time of year again when Cheltenham prepares for the influx of visitors coming to Cheltenham Race Festival. Therefore the Borough Council and County Council are working together to keep traffic moving smoothly through Cheltenham to get visitors to and from the Racecourse with the minimum disruption.

Trevor Gladding, Community Protection manager for Cheltenham Borough Council said: “We have made significant changes to the traffic orders in respect of Albert Road, New Barn Lane and Hill Court Road this year, and we hope that this will help keep the traffic flowing. We are working with the county council to ensure that traffic going to and from the festival is managed as well as possible, and that any travel disruption is kept to a minimum.”

Additional signage will be posted around Cheltenham town centre to help direct people to buses, taxis, and toilet facilities. Extra toilets (portaloos) will be available.

Should you need further information on the traffic orders that will be in force around the borough during the festival please see the Borough Council’s website.
