International Women’s Day Event

Women’s Health & Well Being’ is to be the theme of the event which takes place on Wednesday 12th March from 12.00 to 2.30pm.  It is being organised by Soroptimist International (SI) which is a non-political service organisation which is devoted to improving worldwide the status and daily lives of women and girls.  Their goal is to raise public awareness of the health and care needs of females across the course of their lives and to encourage the education required to make a positive impact on both behaviours and attitudes.

There will be displays by local groups and organisations which have an interest in women’s health and wellbeing in order to showcase the opportunities they offer to women.  Mayor Wendy Flynn will open the speaker event at 12.30pm.after which there will be short presentations from Maggie’s Centre; ISIS Women’s Centre; Pilates and Healthy Living.  Lastly there will be an open forum chaired by Ruth FitzJohn of the 2gether Trust.
