How to Create that Christmas Party Sparkle!

Antonia Coles of JTT Events provides advice, research and planning at a wide and varied number of events. Here is her advice on how to achieve that special sparkle for your Christmas party and ensure it’s a real cracker!

Keep it simple and focused – make a decision and stick to it.
Don’t get carried away with “Ooh we could do this, and that".
Consider your guests when choosing your venue: where will they park, is it easy (and affordable) to get home, is the event affordable?
Make a list of what you want, and need to do.
Work with your chosen venue; what will they do decoration and novelty-wise, when do they need final numbers and dietary requirements? They will guide and help you.
Be clear to your friends/colleagues what to expect, what you need to know and by when (menu choices, times, dress)
Work to a tight budget.
If you want to add a special extra, decide upon it early and build it into your budget and into encouraging your guests to come along.
Don’t be afraid to have your party in the New Year. Lots of people are busy and strapped for cash in the run up to Christmas, and a New Year party gives everyone something to look forward to.
