Easter holiday activities for the kids

Play Zone holiday play schemes are being held at Balcarras Sports Centre and RowanfieldInfant schools. Children will be able to take part in lots of fun and exciting activities. Both schemes will be operated on a first-come-first- served basis.

The Sports Development Team is working with local sports clubs to provide a large variety sports activities, and tennis courses will be run in Montpellier for youngsters from 5-16years. They will also be providing free drop-in Street Games activities for 11-18yr. olds in various locations throughout Cheltenham borough.

Easter will also see the return of the popular Games Week at Leckhampton Primary School from 7th-11th April. This runs each morning from 9.30am to 12.30pm and youngsters can join in a wide variety of sports. Sessions cost £5 per morning or participants can book for the whole week (including Games Day, for £25) There will also be the opportunity to stay on for a whole day to take part in one of the afternoon sports coaching workshops in Kin-ball and Dodgeball.

Play rangers will also be present in the local parks this Easter providing lots of different activities to get children involved with arts and crafts, and sports. These sessions are free of charge and take place from 11.30am – 4pm in various locations.

Cabinet Member for Sport and Culture, Councillor Rowena Hay, said: “It's so important that we provide activities for young people during the school holidays to keep them entertained, and give them the opportunity to stay fit and healthy.”
