The Mayor will be attempting a swim at the Cheltenham Lido on Wednesday, 25th December to raise funds for three of her charities i.e. Victim Support, Hester’s Way Neighbourhood Project, and Cheltenham Animal Shelter.,
This charity swim event is to take place promptly at 11am and will have ended by 11.30am. If you would like to join the Mayor for the swim, or come along as a spectator you are most welcome, there is no charge.
After the swim, Mayor Wendy Flynn will join a volunteer team at Cheltenham Open Door’s Christmas Shelter at St Luke’s Church Hall. The volunteers will be providing food, warmth and companionship, to people in need
Mayor Wendy Flynn, said: “I’m a little nervous about how cold it’s going to be. In 2011 it was 45F/7.2C. It’s all for such good causes that I’ve just got to be brave. I do hope people will support me in raising funds for the Mayor’s charities.”
