The chosen Cheltenham areas have already had the ground prepared and are now awaiting the sowing of the seeds in Spring 2014. This is a joint project between Cheltenham Borough Council and the Gloucestershire Highways in an effort to bring life and colour to the areas.
The designated sites are at:
Benhall roundabout, Coronation Square roundabout, plus the verge outside St Aidan Church and the YMCA.
Community Ranger for Cheltenham Borough Council, Janice Peacey, said: “The new urban meadow planting should provide pollen and nectar for a good range of insects as well as look beautiful for people using these busy routes in Cheltenham. We also look forward to hearing people comments on the trial meadow areas.”
