The Big Wigs challenge runs from 17th October to 16th December. Absolutely anyone can take part whether you area business, school, sole trader, family or community group.

What Sue Ryder want you to do is:

  • Take £60,
  • Use it to fundraise for 60 days, and
  • Raise a minimum £1,953 (1953 being the year Sue Ryder charity was founded)

The Big Wigs Challenge started three years ago and in that time Gloucestershire has raised thousands of pounds for the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. This year is a special 60th Anniversary and  the charity hope to raise at least £60,000 across the South West.

All the competing teams will be invited to the Watershed in Bristol on 16th October  where they will meet together before being handed their £60 investment from Sue Ryder. Each team then has 60 days to do whatever they can (within legal boundaries) to make a profit.

There will be a glitzy award ceremony in January 2014.

Cheltenham fundraiser Zoe says: ‘”By taking part in the Big Wigs challenge this year, you will be helping us raise the vital funds needed to, not only continue, but develop our services at Leckhampton Court Hospice. Most of us will know someone affected by a life limiting condition and the hospice is here to provide incredible care to those that need it.  We need the support of our local community to raise funds that enable us to be here when compassion, care and comfort is need most.”.

Teams need to be registered by 1st October so if you would like to take up the Big Wigs Challenge 2013 then please get in touch with:
