This restaurant is an absolute gem in Chelmsford. Eddie is a wonderful owner and cook, and works his socks off to provide a 10/10 service. I’ve been graciously welcomed every time i’ve been in the restaurant and it’s a very warm environment. I can only reccomend L’unuico to anybody reading this review. The food is tip-top, and the service is very friendly. Don’t miss out!

The best Authentic Italian restaurant in Chelmsford! The cheesy garlic bread, squid and giant Prawns were amazing! Followed by a chicken pasta dish! Of course finished off with Limoncello! The customer service was exceptional with the chef checking that everything was okay and a very friendly funny guy! 100% recommend and will be going back.

We popped in with the kids today, early afternoon to grab a bite to eat, and honestly, the food was exceptional! My wife and I have travelled a bit and like eating out. We're real foodies. I wish we'd discovered this place sooner. Maybe the romantic Italian music playing in the background helped or the amazing staff, but it was a wonderful experience and the food was fresh and on point. We'll be back!

It could be argued our first ever visit to L'unico did not get off to the best possible start, the Chef was delayed due to motorised contretemps on the Army & Navy roundabout. In fact the "boss" came in to cook our meals, until he came to the rescue we received multiple apologies for the delay and royally treated too.
Our choice of dish may have been delayed in arriving at our table but one thing is absolutely certain, it was worth waiting for! We had called for the Risotto Al Fungi (Mushrooms) and the Vitello Milanese (Veal). We were not disappointed, both dishes were beautifully cooked and tasted wonderful.
There is absolutely no doubt we will visit L'unico again, hopefully in the very near future. There is much to be explored on their menu.

Amazing food! Amazing service and all round brilliant evening! Staff were attentive and funny (even helping my dad read the menu by turning the lights up in the whole restaurant as he forgot his glasses) very lovely restaurant and relaxed atmosphere. The food was stunning! We had the mainly fish dishes which all tasted beautifully fresh and a very well cooked steak dish which was cooked to perfection. Could not recommend this restaurant enough and really is a hidden gem! We will definitely be back!

Amazing authentic Italian fare & lovely wine coupled with excellent friendly service! The white bait starter was crispy on the outside, tender & tasty on the inside. My son’s funghi risotto was the best he’s ever had and my fish stew was so fresh & flavourful, served with good sourdough bread.
Would highly recommend and will be sure to return to try the myriad of tempting dishes they have on their menu!

I like this restaurant and the food is good, however I think it's a bit pricy compared to other Italian restaurants in the city. The fish menu is extensive. I had skate and it was lovely.

Booked my mums 60th at this restaurant and they were great. We had the room down stairs that was a great function room (we had a party of 11) food & service were great, would highly recommend!

Went there for dinner last night (8th March) with my partner. Food was incredible by far the best Italian Cuisine in Chelmsford city centre. Eddie who served us was fantastic and attentive. Pollo di l’unico was delicious, the wine which we chose was Gavi and that complimented the food perfectly. Finished off the meal with a torte di Nona

We had a bottomless brunch at the weekend, and it was absolutely brilliant! Service was incredible, all so friendly and chatty! The food was exceptional, great menu and was so good!
