We called in here towards the end of the lunch service, yet we were made to feel so welcome. The service was great, food was delicious and ambience was lovely. There is plenty of choice on the menu, as well as a good drinks list. Prices are very reasonable.
This place was a complete revelation and we would be very happy to return. I have no hesitation in recommending this Italian restaurant.

Looking for somewhere different for a Valentine Lunch and chose II Palazzo. We certainly were not disappointed. We received a very welcoming greeting and this service continued throughout our visit by all the staff. The restaurant was spotlessly clean. The food we had there was delicious with plenty of choice, As it was lunchtime there weren't many customers there so could not judge the atmosphere but would imagine eating there in the evening the atmosphere would be very good. We shall certainly visit again in the evening.

6 of us booked for dinner mid week, it was very good. Service and food were lovely. Waiter had time to joke with us and the food came out together, was well presented and tasty.
Nice Italian wines on offer not too expensive. Was busy in the early evening due, I expect to the proximity to the Civic theatre and train station.

We'd accidentally booked to eat at their South-end branch but although they were fully booked here even as early as 6.30pm in the evening they managed to squeeze us in. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was lively. The pizza and pasta were perfectly cooked and the portions very generous. Very friendly and attentive service from the Italian waiters. We would love to eat here again when next in Chelmsford.

Me and my girlfriend had a lovely meal at Il Palazzo. Being new to the area I'm on the path to try out as many of Chelmsford's restaurants & bars as I can. I've made a cracking start!
A pleasant & nicely presented restaurant near the station where the staff were very welcoming & friendly.We shared a very cheesy (we like!) garlic bread to kick us off before I had my starter & main from the specials board, a Mediterranean grilled veg & goats cheese and a saffron tagliatelle with monkfish & prawn (Both pictured). Both were really, really tasty and plentiful. I actually couldn't finish my main which is a bit of a big deal as the boy can eat!
My girlfriend has mozzarella fritters (pic) & vegi cannelloni which she really enjoyed as well.We were well looked after throughout the meal and had a nice bottle of white to wash it all down.
The bill came to £58 which I thought was excellent value for 4 courses, bread & wine.I would definitely recommend this restaurant and, with it being very close to home, will definitely be returning.

We use Palazzo when we visit the Palace Theatre in Southend- This is what an Italian Restaurant should be- Excellent food, good value and fantastic service. The main issue is deciding from the Menu.
They do pre-theatre menu so if you are going to the Civic I highly recommend. The baked scallops were very tasty and the Pollo Milanese / Risotto con polo both very good. Excellent value / service.

Loved every second of the night. We took our 12 year old and 9 year old and we had a family meal out. Beautiful food and ultra friendly staff. will go back again soon. 10 our of 10.

Wow what a find! This is my new favourite restaurant in Chelmsford! Food was outstanding, service was great and a very reasonable price. Certainly on parr if not better than other Italian restaurants in the area!

Went in on the 7th in the late afternoon early evening. We choose this restaurant on the recommendation of friends. The staff were attentive but not overly so. The food was excellent and we will return. Recommend to anyone who enjoys proper Italian food.

The food was lovely, the best fish I have had in a long time, perfectly cooked as were the vegetables. It was great value as we had the fixed price 2 course menu, all 6 of us had a great meal. The staff were extremely helpful & friendly, we will definitely be coming back, thank you for the limoncello

For starter, I went for the Caprese salad and my husband went for the meat balls. Both were very tasty. We both went for pizzas for main course which were huge and of good quality. We have recently returned from Sorrento and the quality was as good as the pizzas that we had there.
It was a Saturday night and pretty busy but the staff were very attentive and friendly.
Overall, a great experience and a good culinary addition to Chelmsford.

Not much else to say. The service was some of the best, most attentive we've experienced and made dining here a pleasure. Especially as we were with a large group it was spot on. Food and wine was tasty, decor fresh and cosy. Am sure we'll go again.

Had a lovely time at il Palazzo Chelmsford with family and friends. We were a party of 30 and were looked after with brilliant service. The food was tasty and with a wide choice to choose from. The value too was excellent. Yes we will go again.

We went for my other half's birthday on a Saturday night - a three course meal, bottle of prosecco and birthday being sung by the staff for a good price and the food being of high quality means we will definitely be back. The tipping point was a small glass of limoncello at the end of the meal. The major selling point here was the service, from coats being taken to prosecco being constantly topped up as well as each meal coming out as soon as plates were cleared. I highly recommend this place.

Another fabulous meal at Il Palzzo. It was very good when it was Pasta Verde but now its great.

Went here last night with friends, seated straight away menus brought over and drink orders quickly taken. Drinks arrived fast which is good but wasn't rushed for food order. Food was lovely with no complaints from us staff were friendly and attentive with out getting in our way. Over all a very nice dinning experience and would have no problem recommending this restaurant or visiting there again.

We have visited four times already and have never been disappointed. The staff are really friendly, service excellent and really good portion sizes. So much nicer than Zizzi, Pizza Express etc etc. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
