We were in Chelmsford for one night and Il Palazzo looked decent. It was far more than that! Every one of our courses was delicious. The highlights were the sardine starter and the seafood linguini.
Everything was cooked mmaculately and the waiting staff excellent. Nice coffee too.

Fabulous service! We were the only lunch diners but the staff were really friendly and the restaurant didn't feel lacking because of that at all. The meals were delicious and very reasonably priced.

I ate her on Saturday evening with 3 friends. Between us we had pizza, pasta, risotto & dessert. The food was excellent - great quality, good portion size & a wide choice of dishes. The service was exemplary & the food was good value for money. I recommend this restaurant!!!

Arrived table was all ready for us and was spotlessly clean. We received Menus quickly and received excellent service. Food was very good quality and not expensive. Overall i would give 10 out of 10 to the Staff. Thanks so much

Loved it! We went there with a friend who's very fussy about new food places and she enjoyed it a lot. The food is really tasty and the staff are great and Italian, was nice to speak with them in our native language 😊

We come here regularly as it's always good. The food is great and there's a big menu to choose from. The staff are friendly too. It has a lovely atmosphere and interior. The mozzarella fritta are the best anywhere. The only small niggle for me is they can be a bit mean with the saute potato portion. Everything else is great but we usually order an extra portion of fries. I definitely hope they take this on board as a few more on each plate would make a big difference. It is very well priced and they do lovely specials. Our son had the lobster thermidor for the first time and loved it. The steaks are always good too. Definitely recommend a visit.

I visited with my wife tonight and shared delicious grilled Sardines and Panini starters, Lobster Taglietelle and Porchetta mains followed by a shared Cheesecake dessert all of this accompanied by a bottle of Gavi Di Gavi and as I said delicious. The only thing that could have been better for us was the music. The bill including tip £95

We were looking for a Covid Safe small restaurant for lunch, we had popped into Chelmsford to do a bit of shopping, this restaurant is well worth the 5 min walk (head towards and just past the railway station, as you leave the shopping areas) , for authentic, tasty, fresh Italian food and exceptional service.
Reasonably priced with a vast range of dishes available, including stone baked pizzas, pastas and regional Italian favourites, there really is something to suit everyone. A smart small restaurant for any occasion, with service that you could never achieve in the chain restaurants they’re competing with. Support a small business, and delight your senses, 5* service, exceptionally clean, Covid safe, friendly welcoming waiter, incredible fresh food, lovely ambience, hidden gem. We stumbled in on this place entirely by accident and didn't regret it. Really good quality Italian food with one of the best red wines I've had and excellent service. The atmosphere is also very warm and welcoming.

Visited recently as a party of 5. Although midweek it was still relatively busy. Service was attentive but not intrusive. All courses were excellent and drinks reasonably priced. There is a nice relaxed feel to this restaurant which always ensures an enjoyable experience.
