How do you spend your weekends?
Do you work hard all week only to find the first thing you need to do on a Saturday morning is head to the supermarket?
Do you dread the weekly drudge walking up and down the aisles, battling with trolleys (which is only worsened when bored children are in tow)?
Would you like your weekend to feel like a holiday?

This weekend why not try something different.  Take a trip to Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and Grill.  Cwmcerrig based at Gorslas just outside Crosshands is a first class farm shop where you can pick up your usual supplies, but with a sense of adventure and out of the ordinary quality.

The Watkins family who have developed Cwmcerrig pride themselves on supplying a huge selection of local food and drink from only the finest Welsh suppliers.  They sell their own meat from Texel lamb and Hereford beef and homemade (got to be tried to be believed! )sausages.

Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and Grill boasts,
•    a state of the art meat cutting room where all the farm meat is prepared
•    a large butchery counter with knowledgeable trained butchers providing you with local beef, pork, lamb and poultry from the Watkins own farm
•    fresh home cooked pies
•    a fresh fruit and vegetable counter,
•    fresh bread and cakes from local bakers delivered daily
•    a range of organic and non organic dairy products including an extensive range of goats milk products.

The delicatessen is a mouth-watering marvel that no supermarket can rival.  Pies , quiches and scotch eggs, rissoles and faggots, olives and antipasti, the best local cheeses, coleslaws, and stuffing are all available.  The hardwork has been done so that you don’t have to!
As I promised a wonderful day-out which could include a break from cooking.  So why not  enjoy delicious home cooking in the café. There is
•    a 100 seated cafe where you can enjoy eating local produce cooked on site
•    a carvery of home cooked meats Monday to Sunday lunchtime

Enjoy a cooked breakfast
, visit for a cup of tea and a cake or treat you and the family to traditional, home cooked tasty food.

The Carvery is their showcase, with a choice of 4 meats, up to 8 vegetables, homemade gravy and Yorkshire puddings!  Homemade pies, curries and hand cut chips are also available as is a vegetarian option.  Say yes to pudding and indulge in apple and blackberry crumble or an award winning rice pudding!
And those bored children?  They can fill up in the café, as they are catered for with smaller versions of what you are having, (they all love Yorkshire puddings!) pancakes or spag bol. They will enjoy the change of scene and they can help you choose the finest produce or
They can let rip at…the adventure playground!   The children can play on Tommy the Tractor and Billy the combine harvester!  Have a wander around the farm paddocks and say hello to the Shetland ponies, Jacob sheep and Hereford cows.
You will return home laden with the best quality local producewith tired and happy children, and soul satisfied…unlike a trip to the supermarket!
