Local Plumbing Firm promotes Boiler Scrappage Scheme in Carlisle

In the run up to the Copenhagen Conference, you can hardly pass a day, without hearing the phrase "Climate Change" somewhere in the media, with the balance of comment and opinion presented reminding us of our impact on the planet.  Despite some scientific arguments to the contrary, most nations, scientists, Government agencies, Ministers and individuals now accept that we're in danger of wrecking the planet - and a 2 degree rise in temperature is all it will take.

Whether Copenhagen  can produce the political momentum internationally to halt this trend is quite another matter, but at least this time round, it's leaders of countries, rather than ministers who are talking.

When presented in this global context, it's very easy to overlook the contributions which we as individuals might be making, and it's also easy to overlook how effective Government policy is in helping reduce our individual impact.  Economic policy can change buying patterns significantly, and I was delighted recently to see details announced of a boiler scrappage scheme (details announced in the Pre-Budget Report on 9th December).

Reheat Britain petitioned the Government to introduce this scheme (click here for more details about Reheat Britain) and, modelled on the car scrappage scheme, this looks like a sure fire way to reduce some of our household carbon emissions whilst helping local businesses during difficult trading times.

If you are looking for local, recommended plumber who will assist in delivering this scheme then call Miltech Electrical or click here to see their feature on thebestof Carlisle.

Nice one, Gordon.
