Almost a year ago to the day more than a month's rain fell in just 24 hours in Cumbria. Storm Desmond brought severe flooding and winds of up to 80mph causing more than 50,000 homes in the north of England to be left without power and hundreds of properties in the Cumbria area flooded and devastated.
