HELP FOR HEROES:

Some children, parents, friends and relatives will be affected each day, week, month and for years to come by events way beyond these shores, and irrespective of whether we agree with the political decisions behind these injuries and disabilities, there is a human dimension to these decisions.

Men and women have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan; desperately in need of help, and support; some families have lost all.

A local father, son and daughter will set off on Good Friday, to walk the length of Hadrian's Wall over Easter, to raise money for the charity

Dennis Marks, who runs Carlisle Calor Centre accompanied by his daughter, Kristiie, and his son Craig, have hopes of raising in excess of £500 for the charity.

If you wish to support them, sponsor them at www.justgiving.com/Dennis-T-JMarks

We wish them every success.
