Explore Nature Writing with Julian Rollins and unleash your creativity
Explore Nature Writing and unleash your creativity
Throughout the day we will cover the main topics of nature writing:
define ‘nature writing’ – what it is, what it isn’t, with a discussion around what course members understand the term to mean.
Does nature writing have a purpose? If so, what is it?
Group discussion of example texts. What do they have in common, how do they differ, what does the writer assume about the reader’s nature knowledge?
Exercise — spend 45 mins exploring the countryside around Kindavillage before writing prose or poetry inspired by the experience.
Working in pairs, present your writing process and output to your partner and identify similarities/differences of approach and then discuss these with the group.
Reaching an audience – thoughts on how to become a published writer.
The course includes a healthy, homemade lunch
