Sequoias - more than a super view

Last Thursday I was kindly invited by the New House Country Hotel just outside Thornhill for a taster evening at their restaurant Sequoias.

It was delightful - they have a new Autumn menu which tasted delicious.  Find the restaurant and menu on their website

My personal favourites were the chicken liver parfait and the south coast scallops with black pudding & apple puree as starters and for me the Usk Valley sirloin steak with chunky chips hit the mark.  The puddings were all too good to pick one or two!!

The restaurant has been refurbished and has real style and of course a fantastic view - which in the summer is truly spectacular.

They do lunches and have have shown that they should not just be famous for a great Sunday lunch.  It is a destination venue to eat in the evenings and if you can order a taxi to allow you to enjoy the wines even better.

Great venue, super food.
