On Tuesday - I over did it in the gym and caused a pain to shoot in my shoulder every time I turned my head to the right. Ouch.
Being a stupid individual I would usually leave this for several weeks to heal itself - and then eventually wake up to the idea that it might need some encouragement to heal!
This has been my strategy for many years - examples being my 20 year groin strain and my dislocated bone in my hand which was reset after hoping it would heal itself and I had lived with the pain for 8 months!
But lesson learnt - although I have had a sore little finger for two months that seems adverse to healing itself....anyway...
I decided to ring my mate Erjan at Osteo Relief and knowing that he doesn't treat on a Wednesday I had hoped to book in for later in the week. However, the lovely Emily informed me that Erj was off to New York on Thursday and so could see me today. Hurrah!
Now the boring bit is how Erj identified the problem in my little finger and my neck/shoulder which is an inflamed disc and has set me back on the path to a perfect body (well perfect may be exaggerating slightly but go with me on this one) however, the interesting bit was Erj being off to New York....
Now being in pain I hadn't put two and two together but of course he is off to Madison Square Garden to watch the Calzagne V Jones fight. Wow. Big fight for our Joe which I think may be a final fight too far for his incredible career but he has so often delivered when one might have written him off so Welsh fingers and toes crossed.
But for Erj great trip - what an experience and with all of the States high on the election it is a great weekend to attack the Big Apple.
So I am saying that against my heart I think Joe will be beaten - what's your assessment?
Is he going to be a contender for Sports Personalty of the Year - but with the likes of our Olympians, Andy Murray, Lewis Hamilton et al...now that's another very hard contest to call...
