The Old Coach and Horses, Canterbury

Our visit on 27th Sept 2010 didn't start too well. No parking available by the door for my wife who is disabled. Then a 10 minutes wait by the bar as there was not a soul around to serve. Eventually a very pleasent, but very harrassed lady appeared who efficiently dealt with the backlog of about six drinkers and diners awaiting attention. That's the downside. After that, things got better. The food was magnificent. My wife and I had pan fried sea bass with wild mushrooms and fennel and my son and his wife both had excellent rib eye steak. The service was good from the young waiter and we would definitely visit again when next in the area. A real gem of a place, full of character and interest and very good value.
