"No one should feel alone” – Horley care home invites community to friendship café

A care home in Horley is inviting people to build new friendships with their neighbours this autumn.

Care UK’s Amherst House, on Court Lodge Road, is opening its doors to residents of Horley and surrounding areas for to its Friendship Caféon Tuesday 27th October, from 10.30am–12pm,as part of their permanent community hub at the home. 

 

On the last Tuesday of every month,local peopleareencouraged to visit the home’s café and enjoy hot drinks and freshly baked treatsin good company. The café is open to anyone who wishes to make new friends and chat with residents, team members and other community members in a relaxed environment.  

 

Cristina Cristea, Home Manager at Amherst House, said: “We'realwayslooking for ways to have a positive impact on our community, and we believe that no one should feel alone.  

 

“Building support systems is extremely important, and we are committed to helping local people understand the help and expertise available at our Friendship Café – a space where everyone is able to relax and enjoy themselves.  

 

“We’re looking forward to welcoming local people and meeting some new faces while enjoying a chat over a cup of tea and slice of cake.” 

 

Amherst House has been designed to deliver the very beststandards of care and to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives in a luxury environment. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well asshort-termrespite care, and has its own cinema room, pub and hair and beauty salon.
