Camberley Judo Club is unlike any other judo club in the country.
It is unique in that we train judoka from beginners through to Olympians, giving them the skills and confidence to truly excel. The martial arts club combines a friendly social judo club with an elite full time training group.
Our competition track record is second to none - we have produced several Olympic athletes and won 14 world medals! Players like Karina Bryant, current world silver medalist, 4 times European Champion and triple Olympian, train at the martial arts club daily.
We also pride ourselves on our social judo members, from beginners through to adults, who practice judo at Camberley purely for the fun of the sport.
Performance Director of Camberley Judo Club is Mark Earle, who built the club in 1988. Mark has been the GBR coach at three Olympic Games and also worked as a personal coach to Camberley Olympians at two others.
Luke Preston, a former British International and Commonwealth Games medalist, is senior coach and runs the elite training group.
Elite Training Group
The elite training group train three times daily. We have on site accommodation cooking and dining facilities. Judoka from GBR or abroad can train with the full time elite group for a number of weeks, months or permanently.
Darcel Yandzi, French International and World Bronze medalist heads up the advanced junior programme. The advanced junior section can train up to 3 sessions weekly at the club and some even join in with the senior classes too.
Beginner and Intermediate Martial Arts Classes
Natalie Hall, another ex GBR competitor, runs the beginner and intermediate judo classes.
These are very popular classes with the youngsters and families, and our 8 week beginner courses are not to be missed for those looking to begin the sport.
