Needed a hotel urgently and was told about this one. They did a fantastic Sunday night deal which we loved. Overall we had a great stay. Drinks and food were very well priced and rooms were the nicest I've stayed in for a long while. Certainly worth a stay.

Having read some of the previous reviews, I can honestly say that I was quite apprehensive staying at The Village. This wasn't to be a pleasant trip anyway, as I was attending a family funeral, so I wanted everything else to go smoothly. I was traveling from Dubai, so I am used to 5 star everything and I do normally stay in Manchester, so I approached this hotel with trepidation.

I honestly needn't have worried, the staff were friendly and professional from the get go, they gave me a quiet room which overlooked the River Irwell and the green belt at the rear of the property, so I was tucked away from any events the hotel may have been holding. The bed was so comfy, the bathroom and toiletries provided were more than suffice.

One young lady on Reception ran around trying to find me a vase for my room, as flowers had been delivered, a few small requests I put in were immediately met. Every single member of staff had the Northern friendliness and charm, a smile goes a long way! I had room service whilst I was there which was good and within a 30 minute time frame, honestly I have nothing negative to say at all!

I didn't use the spa or gym facilities, as my stay was quite short but I will gladly take my gym kit next time.

Would happily stay again and would highly recommend from someone who is very hard to please!

This could have been an excellent stay but sadly spoilt by smelly cigarettes butts outside our room window, broken glass leftover from the previous function and our credit card being charged for ours and someone else's room.

Stayed here on business - staff were very friendly however cleanliness was not what I would expect from a hotel of this standing - Had to make call to housekeeping, who give them credit came straight away to sort the problem out.

First experience of being offered to bid for a room upgrade and online 'extras' as in early check-in, late check out etc.. great idea and very quick! Check in was via a screen with staff on hand to support if needed. Room was gorgeous! More coffee pods requested and received with no quibble. Only issue was the half shower screen which meant a lot of water spilled on to bathroom floor needing towels to mop up. Definitely a design flaw that needs addressing but otherwise I was really impressed and would definitely go back.

We stayed at this hotel the night before our trip to the Bury Railway and were very pleased with it. The hotel was in a great location for the motorway and Bury town centre. All aspects of this hotel were top quality, the staff, accommodation, leisure facilities and food.

The hotel was perfect,we had a function in the hotel and used the excellent facilities for an overnight stay.
The bedroom was beautifully appointed and had just been renovatedthe spa and swimming pool were excellent and my family enjoyed all these facilities.
The function room had just been renovated to a very high standard and on the whole staying at this venue was a memorable experience.

I stay here every time I come back to my home town to visit family as the hotel is in a great location for motorways connections. The last 3 occasions I have stayed with my wife and daughter they have messed up the rooms. One time they actually checked us into a room that was already occupied, then into a tiny room with only one bed, then third time on the night into a room with a sofa bed.... That they took hours to actually furnish with bedding.
Today 3 June, the same again.... A sofa bed with no bedding. I went to reception on check in 530 to be told that someone was coming right up to make up the sofa bed. We returned back to the room at 1030 to find no bedding. I went to reception to be told there were no staff but someone would start at 11pm. The guy just came and dropped of a 'quilt' that turned out to be a single mattress cover inside a double quilt cover. Too late to take a third trip to reception. Maybe one day they will actually get the right bases covered. Not really impressed.
