It's been a while since we went to The Village for Sunday lunch. There used to be a huge selection of help yourself starters and desserts and a help yourself carvery. We have been today and the choice of starters was few and such tiny portions. The dinner was served piping hot, I chose beef with lots of veg and gravy. The biggest let down was the desserts. Muffins, Danish pastries or fruit n yogurt pots. Very disappointing. No ice cream, not hot desserts!!!!!
Sadly this has put us off and we will not be returning for Sunday Lunch.

Decided to have Sunday lunch on the 2nd Feb 2020 after a family swim. The staff were wonderful, very accommodating nothing was too much trouble the chef did extra different food to what was on the menu for our very fussy 9 year old. Will definitely return & highly recommend this place.

Not a bargain and if you’re looking for a clean, one night stay using purely as somewhere to sleep stick with the Premier Inn group. Very tired although to be fair clean and staff are friendly. Shower very poor and nothing a bit of limescale remover wouldn’t fix ( even though surely soft water area?).
Parking is not good as you have to deal with what seems like 400 gym users so guests are way down the priority list in the overflow .. with £5 a day for the privilege!
Lastly and to be fair in hindsight very funny, room service, a can of cider? Really? No glass? Just handed a can and a polystyrene box containg a steak baguette ( pretty dire!)! I thought I was ordering a cheeky Cote style baguette and chilled cider.....errrr No!
In all... clean, basic but not for me.... and guys too much plastic in your room service delivery! What about the planet?

Great night, friends hen party. Meal was of a high standard for the numbers being served. Solo & Motown night. Singer and disco brilliant. Bar service very slow and high priced. Poor selection of tonics and the correct garnish. Otherwise great value for money.

Staying for business meant choice was not an option. Check in was sterile with no where to hang your suits whilst checking in, no place for bags, no room assistance so someone with a disability must really struggle, I struggled and I'm suffering with arthritis, no help was offered for my struggles. Evening bar was constant noise, 2 out of 5 ordered things were got wrong; half my meal was very hot (temperature = good) the other half was luke warm as if it had been standing about. The vegetables looked far from fresh and were limp in the extreme. Breakfast was a little better, good selection and food was hot. No cranberry juice and eggs cooked for me were underdone. Toaster was a joke - either anemic warm bread or the stuff was on fire! I have stayed in a range of Village Inns (through business) and yet to have a complete and satisfactory meal. Everything seemed plastic and sterile, but although my bedroom was clean, others in my party found items on the floor in their room which showed that the room had clearly not been cleaned properly.

Due to the horrible Coronavirus situation there is an extended offer and £39 for BB/night, we decided to spend the night instead of driving home in the dark. Yes, the check in on computer is also not to my taste, but the lady assisted and all was fine. The question is always would you come again? Yes is the answer.

I attended a dinner in aid of the Royal Marines Charity, and the staff at this hotel were top notch. Would like to say a personal thanks to Joanne (team leader) for all her help and hard work during the dinner.

I stayed here for a night in business recently.
I was impressed by the room, decent size and nice facilities.
Due to the corona virus hype, I decided to order room service & not mix with lots of unknown people in the bar/restaurant.
What a disappointment it was..... firstly it arrived in polystyrene burger type boxes inside a paper carrier bag, not exactly tray service you’d normally expect...... then I didn’t have exactly what I’d ordered...... the pint of orange juice & lemonade had a red measuring cup left in it !!
The food was unappetising due to the sweaty nature of it being served the way it was I suspect.
The breakfast buffet was very disappointing, I don’t usually go for the cooked option, so,rely on the buffet. Coffee was awful. Only saving grace was the Starbucks inside the hotel lobby, so I could pay extra for decent coffee and savoury.
On checking out, I told the staff how bad room service was and they offered me a 50% discount......
Such a shame, it was a poor experience.
