I first visited this hotel some years ago and was blown away with the standards both of the facilities and the staff. When I returned recently I noticed that many of the same staff remained and even more amazed they remembered me. The restaurant is of the highest quality and Tina and Richard in particular are outstanding. Best servers I've ever seen!

Stayed here several times before and in others in the chain. Plus points are good value prices, great pool and gym facilities and the "Victory" pub that is good for a value meal without going into restuarant - though that has now become a more infomal "Italian". Add in free wi fi, parking and a decent choice at breakfast then it all adds up to good value from Village as a self contained location for a night or two. But, and you knew there would be one... choose your room wisely! It's worth paying the extra for top deck rooms and tell reception when you arrive if you want a quiet room at front. Our stay was on a Staurday with an early start next day, but the hotel had a noisy function on until 1am and we were above it at the back...and that was before many guests started to party at 2am in rooms on our floor. Staff came to quieten things down but it was still a lot of disturbance during the night. So, be warned, if you are there at weekends and want a good sleep get a room well away from the function suites and party goers.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Good rooms but could do with more deals / breaks. Very convenient and great parking. Good facilities. The food is okay and it's a great venue for a party or romantic night.

Liked this hotel, clean and service was good. The bed was comfy and the pillows weren't that bad either for a hotel. The only thing I would say negative about the place was the hotel room lighting wasn't great, I had all lights on around the room and still thought it was too dark to get ready for the night out. Breakfast was quite nice. Would stay again.

My wife, two teenage daughters and I came over from the US to stay over Christmas at this hotel while visiting family. Prior to our visit I spoke, several times, with Hotel Special Events Co-ordinator Terri Cox who was wonderfully helpful in all sorts of ways, from ensuring quiet adjacent rooms, to taking orders for Christmas dinner etc. Could not have been more helpful. Rooms were terrific, all the hotel amenities were great, from the pool/spa to the Victory pub, where the staff were about as friendly as you could possibly imagine. The Christmas dinner was just excellent too. We always stay at The Village, Bury when we come back to the UK to visit family. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

We can’t thank the Village hotel enough for their efforts in helping us plan and carry out our annual Belvoir Lettings ‘Buy to Let’ seminar. The team at the village were faultless throughout our event and with the planning of the event. Nothing was too much trouble with the planning and the room size was perfect. We would highly recommended their services to any local business looking for a meeting room or to hold an event. Thanks again.

I visited today to meet with a friend for lunch and had a really nice afternoon. There was a great atmosphere and the food and service were good too. Attentive but not at all intrusive or pushy. A great place for a casual meet up.

We stayed for NYE Dinner/disco 3 course meal was good, entertainment was good, room was a good size & we had a great nights sleep, breakfast was a bit hectic because of the amount of people staying overnight for new year, but all In all it was good value for money & would do it again. Price for NYE Stay + 3 course dinner & breakfast & use of all facilities swim/gym/sauna was £135pp which I think is a fare price.

I visited this hotel for the first time today and made use of the swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. I was really impressed by the high standard of all the facilities, the friendliness of the staff and the general cleanliness of the venue. My mum who was with me tried the aerobics class and she loved it. Both of us appreciated the ample parking outside too.

Thanks again for a great stay, hotel, staff and facilities super.
Enjoyed our stay last week we just had to return before our departure for home.
Breakfast great, even though stayed over the Christmas period nothing too much trouble and able to have a relaxing unhurried breakfast. Dining room still a little too dark
Thanks again and see you soon

Stayed there over New Years and went to the NYE Dinner and Dance.

The Dinner and Dance was really great. Their downfall was after that. We stayed at the upper deck room.

For starters my wife is allergic to feather pillows so we had to ask room service for down pillows. When we got the pillows we got the pillows and pillow case separately so we had to insert them into the pillow cases - not something you would have expected from a hotel.

Granted it was NYE - but at 1am we had kids running up and down the hallway and then also some strange woman knocking on our door asking is she could spent the night with us!!

De Vere should invest in some security doors that you then have to use your security card on to access the floors. Currently anyone can wonder up to any of the floors.

When it came to breakfast they were clearly overwhelmed by the amount of people - this was due to poor planning.

A extra breakfast area was setup but ran short of glasses, bacon, no eggs, one small toaster that you had to queue for, cold sausage.

This was not on - a dismal breakfast.

De Vere need to learn from Premier on how to do breakfasts.

Not sure if I will be returning in a hurry.

I booked a family room (2 adults and 2 children). The room was as expected however the sofa bed was too small for my kids (aged 8 and 5). They did however supply and additional single foldaway bed, but this made the room very cramped! The bathroom was ok but no soap / shower cap etc. apparently you get that on a £20 upgrade room but they don't have any family rooms at this grade!

Stayed here as part of a family trip to see a panto. Hotel and room facilities all excellent - panto appallingly bad and misadvertised using Disney images and merchandise for a 3 cast poor rendition with a few terrible songs from other shows.
No clear plan for where kids should sit meant children stood clustered round performers, audience we're hurriedly served food, with kids expecting roast dinners actually receiving lukewarm chicken nuggets and chips. Not at all typical of our other very positive experiences of the village - there will always be enough hopeful parents to fill the room each year, but the harm this rubbish product does to the village's wider reputation mean they need to either seriously up their game or not bother offering this particular niche in future.
