There's nothing like celebrating a spot of history in the Borough and if that's your bag, then Sundridge Park Golf Club is history worth celebrating.

And it goes back quite some way in history too, with mention of a house at "Sundresse" way back in 1227, owned by the Le Blund family.

Ownership of the property changed hands many times in the following few hundred years, until the Scott family pulled down the original building to construct a mansion in its place. In fact, that mansion sometimes played host to King Edward VI who would be invited down for weekends to shoot pheasants in the grounds!

The estate was constantly developed and parts sold off until the turn of the 20th century when a group of men from Bromley decided it would be a jolly good idea to have a golf club on their doorstep! Construction of the courses began in 1901 and it's since been an incredibly popular feature of the golfing community.

It also boasts quite a claim to fame - it's the only Golf Club in the world that has two eighteen hole courses within 7 miles of a major city.

How about that?!

You can either play Sundridge Park as a visitor or they also welcome you to join as a member. Contact the team on 020 8460 0278 for more information.
