Local dance schools take centre stage at this year's panto in Bromley!

Many local schools auditioned but this year the chosen three are; The Laura Bruce Dance Academy, D & B Theatre School and Studio 74.

Laura who is the Principal of The Laura Bruce Dance Academy said “We are over the moon to be a part of this years pantomime of Cinderella and we are proud of all of our pupils. They are having a ball and are very excited to be at their local Theatre this Christmas!”

The Laura Bruce Dance Academy is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary and currently has children performing in The Lion King in the West End.

D & B Theatre school are excited to be back again for their fourth consecutive year.

“We are delighted to provide the Churchill Theatre pantomime with the children and professional dancers for this year’s production of Cinderella. We ensure our performers work hard but they also have a fabulous time taking part.” Principal Donna Sullivan of D & B Theatre School.

The final dance school is Studio 74 who are also very happy to be taking part in this years pantomime production. They have only been established for two years but with a huge success already in TV and film and performing at The Royal Albert Hall, along with performing at The Bromley lights switch on, on Sunday 1st December.

“Studio 74 are absolutely thrilled to have their students performing in the Bromley Panto this Christmas! The girls are really excited and this is a dream come true for them! As a school we are so proud of this achievement and look forward to watching our students on stage doing what they love! Good luck to all the children performing.” Principal Claudine Payne.

Not only are there young dancers performing in the show but there are six professional dancers all aged between 20 – 22.(Rory, Dulcie, Jamie-Lou, Ayden, Alice, Kate) Four of which also trained at The D & B Theatre school on the 3 year performing arts course and are all locally based in Bromley, Beckenham and Bickley.

For them it is their first professional job.

Ayden Sugden from Beckenham said “I’m very excited to be performing my first professional show in a Theatre that is so local to my hometown and alongside youngsters from the school I trained at”

The dancers will be performing alongside stars such as Matt Lapinskas (Eastenders and Dancing On Ice), Anna Williamson (Daybreak and Nickelodeon) and Andrew Agnew (Balamory).

Cinderella continues the Churchill Theatre Bromley annual tradition of staging magical, festive pantomimes.

Join Cinderella as she tries to escape her Ugly Stepsisters and find her Prince Charming. With glittering sets and costumes, hilarious jokes, bags of audience participation plus a special appearance from the Sensational Shetland ponies, Cinderella is fantastic seasonal fun for the whole family.
