Is your golfer's elbow getting too much?

When a golfer pulls up mid swing, or a footballer suddenly pulls a hamstring even when he's just kicked the ball in exactly the same way he has so many times before, you may find that it's not the swinging or the kicking that is the actual cause of the injury – quite often at Chislehurst Chiropractic we find that it's an underlying issue that's the cause.

This could be a previously undetected joint or spine problem, or even the culmination of years of poor posture. Sometimes the end result spells the end of a budding sporting career.

It makes no difference whether you're a top level professional sportsperson or amateur sports enthusiast, the same kind of injuries are equally possible. You can suffer a slight loss of proper movement in your joints or vertebrae due to repeated stresses, which then interfere with the healthy working of the nerves and muscles. You could be guilty of continuing with your sport and ignoring the pain for too long without treatment, only to find yourself landed with a chronic injury.

We often come across patients with:

  • Shoulder injuries
  • Hamstring and calf strains
  • Achilles tendon injuries
  • Lower back pain
  • Tennis/Golfers elbow
  • TendonitisGroin and thigh sprains
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica

These injuries regularly turn into niggling recurring injuries and can even lead to the shortening of promising sporting careers.
