The Panto stars from this year's production of Snow White will switch on the lights in the High Street at 7pm, with the celebrations ending with a bang with fireworks and festive performances.

Councillor Peter Morgan, Executive Councillor for Renewal and Recreation, is thoroughly looking forward to the event. "The town centre will be bustling with festive events this Christmas and we are offering free parking every Thursday evening so why not come along and join in the fun while doing your Christmas shopping. Along with Christmas lights, activities and decorations and a Christmas market, we are also showing a live nativity scene for all the family so come along and enjoy the true spirit of Christmas".

Christmas lasts all month long this year with festive entertainment taking place in Bromley town centre every Thursday evening in December.

1 December sees live music and Christmas carols in Market Square and High Street.

On 8 December, Simon May, composer of the "East Enders" theme tune, will compare performances from local choirs, sponsored by EW Payne Jewellers.

An interactive live Nativity scene with a real donkey, Mary and Joseph and the Wise Men will take place throughout the evening on 15 December, with more live music on 22 December.

The Civic Centre car park in Bromley town centre will also be offering more spaces from Monday 12 December until Monday 2 January.

The Christmas lights, festive celebrations and free parking initiative are all supported by the Mayor of London's Outer London Fund that aims to strengthen the vibrancy and growth of high streets and their surroundings.

Bromley residents and shoppers will also be treated to the annual Christmas Markets in the High Street from Friday 9 December. This popular market is open everyday from 9am until 5pm until Saturday 24 December.

There will be a wide range of stalls offering gifts, crafts, jewellery, plants, fresh vegetables, preserves, English and German specialities and so much more.
