I just did a Google search to find out when our Christmas lights switch on this year - and do you know what, I found NOTHING!
I'm guessing Bromley hasn't suddenly become Scroogeville and I wasn't suddenly struck with Dyslexia, but all I could find was one little entry on the Bromley Council website:
Date: 19 November 2009 4:00pm To: 7:00pm
Location: Bromley High Street, near the Churchill Theatre
Type: Open to the public
Details: Come and join Claire Sweeney at this great Christmas event. There will be a rock choir, festive stilt walkers, face painting, a giant snow-globe for photos to treasure, and a fantastic firework display finale. Event Organiser: Cheryl Curr Phone: 020 8461 7845 E-Mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
Not a single mention of the lights going on.
I may be putting the ass in assumption here, but a Christmas event with fireworks and the presence of a celebrity.... why else would they be there but to flick the Big Red Switch?
I'll be there at this free event, and if there aren't any lights, I'll be asking for my money back...
Thank you for reading thebestof Bromley Blog. If you have something to say about Bromley and what's going on for you, we'd love to hear from you. Come and blog with us: email email@example.com
