Breast of Friends

Every year, Bromley's Glades Shopping Centre participates in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness event, and this year hosted  the 'Breast Of Friends' fashion show in October.

The show, modelled by women affected by breast cancer - either currently in treatment or remission from the disease - raised £1,834 which will be put towards analysing hospital equipment costing £60,000.

Glades General Manager presented the cheque to Mr Anil Desai, Consultant Breast Surgeon, and Lee Burgess, Specialist Breast Care Nurse, of the Chartwell Unit at Farnborough's Princess Royal University Hospital.

The new sentinel lymph node analyser machine will enable the team at the PRUH to carry out both analysis and any required lymph surgery in one operation, rather than patients enduring a two-week wait for biopsy results and having to return for surgery.

The fashion show in October was an inspirational show of strength and resilience, and we wish them every luck in their continued fundraising.
