A visit to Bristol Zoo Gardens is an adventure into an exciting animal kingdom, all set within 12 acres of beautiful gardens.

Discover over 400 species of exotic and endangered animals from across the globe at Bristol Zoo Gardens, all set within award-winning gardens spanning over 12 acres.

Journey into an amazing animal kingdom and meet famous faces as well as some unusual creatures you never knew existed!

Marvel as our 32-stone gorilla Jock strolls overhead, and say hello to our majestic lions Sahee and Sonika. Watch the African penguins zoom through the water at Seal and Penguin Coast, and see our cheeky meerkats and lemurs scamper around.

New arrivals!

The Zoo is bursting with life, including a host of adorable babies. Look out for our Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo joey, Kiri, who is becoming more adventurous. Watch young spider monkey Elli swing about and pay a visit to our golden lion tamarin twins.

Plus, help us to welcome our new red panda, Shifumi! The one-year-old female comes to us from Parc Animalier d’Auvergne in France. She’s named after chifoumi, the French version of rock/paper/scissors. See if you can spot her climbing the tree in her exhibit or munching on bamboo panda-cakes!

Adventure for all the family

Big and little adventurers alike can climb, clamber and swing through the air in our thrilling aerial ropes course, ZooRopia. Travel through the treetops alongside the gibbons and gorillas, tackling 17 gravity-defying challenges before flying down the zip wire to finish. Will ZooRopia make a monkey out of you? (Check website for opening, restrictions and charges.)

Award-winning gardens

With over 100,000 beautiful, rare and extraordinary plants from across the world, our botanical gardens are well worth a visit in their own right. Stroll along pathways winding through vibrant displays, with lots to enjoy all year round as the seasons change.
