Diners at the ever-popular Brighton pizzeria restaurant Pinocchio in New Road did a triple-take this week when members of the cast of the city’s premier Christmas panto, The Amazing Adventures of Pinocchio , visited in costume to sample their favourite pizzas.

Pinocchio’s restaurant manager, welcomed not one but three Pinocchio’s, as well as the show’s Good Fairy (ex-EastEnders actress Gina Cameron) and Signora Circo (actress and stuntwoman Pip Henderson). The three Pinocchio’s are Fleur Aston (13), Cooper Snow (10) and Frankie Milward (also 10), each of whom devoured their tasty pizza with gusto. Fleur, Cooper and Frankie will each take the lead in 10 of the 30 performances during the run.

This December, for Christmas and New Year, Brighton’s main panto production will once again be featuring local professional actors, singers and dancers, with a supporting cast of local schoolchildren. The production, from local company JW Productions, will be based at The Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, formerly the Gardner Arts Centre.

JW Productions is dedicated to bringing affordable and interesting theatre to the local community, especially families and children, and believes that introducing theatre and the arts to young people at an early age through panto and drama can be of long-lasting benefit.

“We had a wonderful time at Pinocchio pizzeria,” said panto producer James Weisz, “and we’re grateful to xxx and her team for making our Pinocchio’s so welcome. It’s heart-warming to have Brighton businesses and the community supporting what we do, and what could possibly be more appropriate for this year’s panto than eating at Pinocchio?!”

This is the first time a pantomime has been produced at the venue located on the Sussex University Campus in over 10 years and is set to reignite this much-loved Christmas tradition. Located off the A27 at Falmer, it’s easy to get to from Worthing, Lewes and Brighton, with excellent rail and bus links too.

Tickets for the production, which opens on December 20th and runs until January 6th, 2018, are on sale now and can be purchased via  www.attenboroughcentre.com  or by calling 01273 678822.
