The 1st Central County Ground is one of the most exciting venues in the South East. It is home to Sussex County Cricket Club, the oldest professional sports club in the world having been founded in 1839. The ground has recently undergone a large redevelopment and now benefits from a number of new facilities that can accommodate all your business or personal event needs.

Premier Hospitality and Sporting Venue 

The Sussex County Cricket Club is fantastic venue and sports stadium, located in central Hove with excellent transportation links by bus and train as well as ample car parking. Our facilities can cater to a wide range of events, including:

Meeting and Function Rooms 


The Sussex County Cricket Club has two main venues which are both available to be used for any kind of event including weddings, birthday parties and business events. These rooms can be tailored to fit your precise event needs. For details of all the venues options see below for more information. 


The Montefiore Hospital Boundary Rooms (300 to 500 guests)

For larger events, why not hire the Montefiore Hospital Boundary Rooms for your AGM, training events, conferences or board meetings? Facilities include: 

  • Inbuilt PA
  • Full screen projection
  • Soundproofed walls
  • Wi-Fi
  • A 30mx10m area
  • Over 40 evenly distributed power sockets
  • Natural daylight 


Spen Cama Pavilion (20 to 140 guests)

For smaller events such as board meetings and conferences, a more intimate venue may be better suited. The Spen Cama Pavillion has three rooms available; the Long Room, Dining Room and Boardroom for your needs.

With a variety of features including air-conditioning, access to seating for outdoor breaks, plasma and LCD screens with computer input, Wi-Fi and natural daylight/blackout facilities, the Spen Cama Pavilion will have all that you need for a successful business meeting.

This variety of rooms also makes the Spen Cama Pavillion a great option for personal events like birthday or Christmas parties. It is also fully licensed for weddings and civil partnerships, and with separate rooms for dining and the ceremony, it could a memorable venue for your special day.

Corporate Hospitality


The Sussex County Cricket Club has a wide variety of corporate hospitality options available alongside our first-class catering team, 1839. One of our most popular packages is our match-day hospitality, this includes:
