On a clear day, so the old song says, you can see forever. Well not quite forever but, from the dizzy heights of the British Airways i360, right across Brighton and Hove and as far as Beachy Head and the Isle of Wight.
A 'flight' on the BA i360 involves being lifted comfortably, soundlessly and gracefully 450 ft into the air. How you choose to spend the 25-minute ascent and descent is up to you. You can take in the views over a glass of Sussex wine at the Nyetimber Sky Bar or amble around the doughnut-shaped glass viewing platform.
Flight times change throughout the year, so keep an eye on their website for the current times. Daytime or evening, sunshine or rain, there's so much to see from their futuristic viewing pod that you'll be left speechless.
Adult tickets starts from £14.85 booked in advance and children under four go free. Brighton residents can become members and fly at a discounted rate. All price variations can be found on their website.
Friday nights offer something even more special at the BA i360 with Live at the Sky Bar. These weekly events are a chance to unwind after a busy week, accompanied by some top-notch music and, of course the fantastic views. The perfect way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.
Other events in the 175-person capacity viewing pod include yoga, dining events and private parties.
Details of how to reserve function and meeting rooms (capacity from 10 to 200 people) can be found here. Got a special birthday to celebrate? You can hire a seafront terrace for a celebratory barbecue. Alternatively, the 175-person-capacity pod (including bar) can be booked for exclusive private or corporate events. To learn all about the options, visit the BA i360 website.
But Brighton's futuristic viewing pod doesn’t end there. At the foot of the tower stands the beach building, including a stylish restaurant and bar, a well-stocked shop and hospitality rooms. The West Pier Tea Room looks out over the old pier and is located in a reconstructed 1866 toll booth.
The BA i360 is located directly opposite Regency Square Car Park (507 spaces). For details on how to get there and parking, see here.
