Review a business you love

Hilary Highet, Lyme Regis

Hilary Highet is one of those shops where you just know you'll see something gorgeous. I'm a great fan of Sahara clothes and it's really good that we have a stockist in Lyme. Every woman should have at least one Sahara jacket in her wardrobe. The fabrics are unusual, textured and beautiful. Also love Hilary's own knitwear - particularly the shrugs and shawls. It's a real pleasure to shop at Hilary Highet.

Creeds, Bridport

I heard about Creeds, printer in a field, even before I relocated to West Dorset. David Parker at Sea Tree House in Lyme used to mention how good they are - we worked together to produce his brochure.. As a writer itʼs good to know whoʼs best in your area. So I borrowed a local Dorset person, a compass, bought some Kendall Mint Cake and set off for Broadoak. Yes, there are fields but itʼs really quite easy to find. Just turn left not long after Washingpool Farm Shop. Creeds were very helpful and patient as I sat in their offices and watched my business card being designed in draft. I always prefer to see the initial stage on a computer screen rather than have endless attempts at postal approval. At least then everyone knows theyʼre on the right track. Very pleased with the result. Also recommend the shop for low cost cards and stationery - really nice and friendly as well. Annette Shaw Bridport

ABC Blinds, Bridport

Itʼs always a gamble when youʼre new in town as to where to try for what etc. Using ABC Blinds was one that paid off. I needed two blinds as part of the house refurb and was really impressed with the service. The choice of blind fabric in terms of the range offered was excellent. A man called to measure up within a week and then ABC beat thier own estimate of time for delivery and the actual fitting. Iʼve passed the name to my neighbour - her windows now sport new blinds and to a friend who is thrilled with the quality and finish of her new roman blinds. Annette Shaw Bridport
