It’s All About Christmas!

As everyone in Brentwood would know it’s nearly time to light up the town with the magnificent Christmas lights! This can only go ahead with some help from all of us! As we will be the one’s appreciating the beauty of Christmas represented by the lights we should lend a helping hand in making the night a success. Cllr Mark Reed, Lead Member for Tourism, has asked members of the public to assist him and other Councillors and members of the public, all keen to demonstrate their commitment to the Big Society and to assist with the stewarding of Lighting Up Brentwood on Thursday 2 December. Not only will you be helping with this great night but you’ll be putting a smile on the faces of the families, friends and children that all join together that on that one night to see the display that makes us happy in the knowledge that Christmas is coming!

For those wishing to volunteer, the commitment will be one short evening of training (when you will meet other volunteers, be shown a plan for the evening and become acquainted with emergency procedures) and, of course, to the evening itself on Thursday 2 December, from 4pm to 8pm. Lighting up Brentwood promises to be a magical, family event and that we have one or two surprises up our sleeves that we will be announcing very shortly!

If you wish to take part in this event then contact Mark on 07879 465009.
