It's only two weeks until Christmas, with New Year's Eve fast behind, and here at thebestof Brentwood, we're starting to get a bit excited!

Perhaps it's because we are lucky enough to have lots of great local businesses that are all geared up for the festive season, but whatever the reason, we thought we'd share some of the great things on offer this Christmas in our local area.

A relaxing drink with friends and family in the cosy surroundings of a friendly, welcoming pub... sounds like heaven! Why not take a trip to one of thebestof Brentwood's recommended local public houses, such as Thatchers Arms, The Green Man Herongate or The Olde Dog Inn, wind down and get into the festive mood?

Warley Park Golf Club has a whole host of entertainment planned throughout the month with its great value Christmas Party packages, which run up to December 22nd and start from just £29. New Year's Eve is also covered with a four course meal and entertainment for only £40.

Located on Kings Road, Brentwood, Bar West One is already known as one of the area's most popular party venues, and throughout this month, has a great value Christmas menu for just £13.95 per person:

Looking more like a scarecrow than a runway model? What you need is a local, recommended hair salon that will chop, dye, highlight, curl or straighten those locks, ensuring you feel like a million dollars when you get into that LBD or tuxedo on New Year's Eve.

Luckily, Brentwood has a range of talented hair stylists right on our doorstep, including Blondes and Callico's.

Now that the hair's sorted, what about your face, body, nails... fear not, because Harmony Beauty Salon is here to help, with a wide range of treatments, such as manicures, pedicures, waxing, eyelash tinting and spray tanning.

Officially known as the best loved business in Brentwood, Brentwood Theatre is doing something a little different to the usual madcap panto; instead, throughout December 2012, the community theatre is playing host to Peter Rabbit and his Friends. Tickets range from £11.50 to £13.50.

You've probably now bought the tree – or got it down from the loft – and having grappled with lights and tinsel, your living room looks much like a Santa's Grotto. However, if your dining table is looking a little sorry for itself, why not ask a local florist such as Clare Florist to create a festive table decoration for you?

Off to a fancy dress party this New Year's Eve? Don't leave it too late – visit Jokers' Masquerade today for a huge selection of fun, affordable costumes, delivered direct to your Brentwood door.

If your planned New Year's Eve celebrations are a little more formal, don't forget to pop into Mr Savile Menswear on Brentwood's High Street to hire your dinner jacket or suit.
