Local Freehouse, The Thatchers Arms' Second Oktoberfest Is a Great Success

I was lucky enough to spend some time at The Thatchers Arms in Mount Bures over this past weekend, when landlord of the beautiful freehouse, Mitch Adams was hosting his second Oktoberfest beer festival. There was about 15 local real ales available straight from the barrel, and well over 30 bottled world beers.

While I was there on Friday evening, a local singer Ben Eve sang to customers, and there was a great atmosphere with many customers there to enjoy a fantastic meal and sample a few guest ales. Saturday night also had a great atmosphere - local singers from Bures, James & Claire, were performing and many of the customers were really getting into some of the songs!

Then, when I was at The Thatchers Arms on Sunday, it was such a delight to see beautiful sunday roast lunches being served to many hungry customers. A choice of local beef, duck, mutton and pork were just some of the choices available - and there were many more dishes to choose from on the list of daily specials.

It really was a delight to spend some time at The Thatchers Arms over the past weekend, and I congratulate Mitch, Tony Janet and their team both on the quality of the food and drink that they serve, but also on the great service that they provide to each of the customers. I'm really looking forward to returning their sometime soon!
