Brackley Celebrates Massive Brawn GP Success

Glory day for all Brackley residents took place today, as a grand procession moved through the town with proud Brawn GP team players on three open-top double decker buses.

Leading the procession in their open top white Mercedes, was Team Principal Ross Brawn, together with CEO Nick Fry. They travelled through Brackley along the High Street from north to south, ending up at the piazza where a huge screen had been setup specially for the event.

Many schools had time off in the afternoon to witness the procession, and other Brackley residents had also manged to find reasons to be in the town this afternoon to witness the show of pride.

The procession was indeed a tremendously proud moment for the small market town, given the turbulance caused when Honda announced they were leaving F1 last year, causing many Brackley families to fear for their futures.

Then, phoenix like, Brawn GP was born out of the ashes, with Brawn and Fry leading the way, and since then, the phenomenal success of Brawn GP does not need to be repeated here.

After the parade, Ross Brawn and Brawn GP's chief executive Nick Fry were presented with an award by Brackley Mayor Caryl Billingham during a formal civic ceremony.
