The Retreat Reflections Face & Bodycare, based on The High Street, Brackley is celebrating as they were announced as winner of the Midlands & North East category, sponsored by Guinot at this year’s exclusive British Beauty & Spa Awards, held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

Compered by television personality and Dancing on Ice Star Michael Underwood, guests enjoyed an exclusive cocktail reception before dinner and entertainment, followed by the awards ceremony and dancing until the small hours. Finalists in all 17 categories waited in anticipation for the category sponsor to announce who would be awarded with the prestigious title and coveted trophy.

Known as the ‘Oscars” of the beauty industry, the British Beauty & Spa Awards, presented by Health and Beauty Salon, reflect the way in which the beauty industry has developed over recent years. Categories celebrate both business acumen and hands-on treatments and procedures from salons, spa’s and individuals within the British beauty industry. Health and Beauty Salon magazine launched the British Beauty & Spa Awards in 1997 to raise the profile of the professional beauty and spa industry by recognising and rewarding innovation and excellence throughout the industry and they are the most prestigious awards in the industry

“The beauty and spa industries have grown and developed and the British Beauty & Spa Awards has grown in line with their development,” comments Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Health & Beauty Salon, Jayne Lewis-Orr. “From the outset, we wanted to recognise and reward excellence, innovation and professionalism by businesses and individuals within the beauty industry. This year we received an incredible amount of entries, making the judges task extremely difficult.”

The judging for the British Beauty & Spa Awards took place over two days, when representatives from the sponsoring companies, along with industry experts, are split into groups to read through the dossiers, ensuring the criteria was met before selecting the six finalists in each category. Judges cannot confer with one another during the judging process, and mark all entries independently.

The Retreat Reflections Face & Bodycare competed against five other salons in each category.  Angela Walker of The Retreat Reflections Face & Bodycare was delighted when their name was read out.

" This year has been an incredible one for the salon.  To be recognised amongst your peers as being one of the country's leading salons is both a wonderful feeling and a great achievement. It is also gives both our team and clients a real buzz."

Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Health & Beauty Salon, Jayne Lewis-Orr, added, “The night was a tremendous success. Each year, the standard of salons, spas and individuals entering the awards exceeds our expectations, and they should all be proud that their achievements have been recognised by the British Beauty & Spa Awards.”
