The YMCA's vision is of an inclusive Christian Movement, transforming communities so that all young people truly belong, contribute and thrive
Here at Bournemouth YMCA there are a diverse range of programmes helping to serve the needs of the local community from housing, youth work and children's work to health & fitness and media. We support young people to become all that they can be.
Services we provide:
In 2013, we directly reached over 41,000 people with our diverse services through youth projects, Hope FM radio, children’s centres and much more. One of our focus areas is helping vulnerable and homeless individuals find shelter and support. Our positive impact in this area is best shown by the individuals we have helped. Peter came to the YMCA in 2013. He was homeless, jobless, an alcoholic and had low self-confidence. He had tried to commit suicide 3 times and had been in St Ann’s. With support from the YMCA his self-esteem grew and he was truly thankful, stating “The YMCA supported me in every way possible. They have helped me put my life back together. If the YMCA hadn't of been there for me, I don't know where I would be now." Your money will help vulnerable people in Bournemouth, just like Peter, find shelter, support and enable them to fulfil their potential.
