Starting to show its age - rooms need proper refurbishment and redecorating. Insufficient plugs (none by bedside), no air con, tired and worn carpets are the sort of things I would expect paying less than half the price.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bolton Whites Hotel. We were there a few weeks ago for the boxing in the Premier Suite. The rooms were very comfy with plenty of nice touches. We were lucky enough to have a pitch view room and the views were incredible, really made the evening special. Jordan on the reception was an asset to the hotel too! Very friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond to help.

Easily accessible from the motorway and easy to find. Retail park next door is really handy too. Some nice places to eat/drink and all within walking distance.

the overall stay was very good, checking in was incredibly easy and staff were helpful.

The bed was uncomfortable so it took me a while to get to sleep, and with a rubbish nights sleep anyway you can imagine I wasn’t too happy when a random fire alarm test went off at 8am! I wasn’t best pleased at this as guests should be made aware.

I bought a pint of lager at the bar which didn’t taste like it usually would so I’d stick to the bottles in future if I go back.

When checking out it was all a bit rushed as there was only one person behind the reception desk trying to check me out and take a phone call at the same time, I don’t know whether this was the reason but I wasn’t asked how my stay was by the receptionist which I thought was a little disappointing, I just handed back my cards and was told the payment was settled.

This, in general, is a good hotel with large rooms - we were in the Penthouse suite. The pool area is great: very clean and well organised. We enjoyed the bar area rather than the restaurant which we found a little lacking in character and rather chilly owing to the air conditioning. The staff, however, in the restaurant and bar area are lovely- very pleasant and helpful.

The positives were:

1. The room was a decent size for the price (£69).
2. The staff were courteous.
3. The service was fine.

The negatives were:

1. The shower was over a bath and so confined.
2. The grouting on the wall by the shower was very grimy.
3. The WiFi gave way.
4. It was hard to find the room as no effort was made to give instructions about how to do so.
5. The food was poor. Limited room service menu but still poor quality. A tough steak even though medium cooked, a hastily thrown together salad and a really feeble cheeseboard. Not tasty and not put together with much care. The breakfast really poor - very cheap sausages, bacon and mushrooms barely edible and pastries that weren’t very fresh; cold toast.
6. Noises started up from about 6am and would be very disruptive if you needed to sleep.

Overall adequate facilities and service for the price of the room, but very inadequate food very much not value for money really let it down.

Stayed one night. Lovely staff on check in and room was clean and tidy on arrival.
Had a meal in the on site restaurant called Grill, which was decent too.
Breakfast was self serve buffet style which I prefer and enjoyed. Again the staff were friendly and attentive.
Enjoyed our stay and will visit again.
Only regret was not asking for a room with a view of the pitch as there was a game on during our stay, although my Mrs may not agree !!!!

Great location for a football away trip. Free parking directly outside on match day arrival. Nice breakfast. Selection of restaurants in adjacent retail park. Will consider staying again next time my team play there

Ideally placed for attending the match. Good parking facility. Adequate drawer and wardrobe space. However the high hangers no use for us as we could not reach them! Provision of hospitality tray minimal had to get more Tetley tea. NO fruit teas/infusions available in room.. I do not drink normal tea or instant coffee. The hotel is I am aware more geared up for business people but I think provision of some beverages for children would be helpful eg hot chocolate sachets. Perhaps a notice that these and fruit teas are available on request.TV in rooms has Freeview however for a Wanderers fan it was not possible to view the review on Saturday evening as this is now on Quest and TV not tuned to this channel.Overall pleased with the accommodation and definitely impressed by staff.

Stayed at this hotel last year. as attending nieces wedding at near by venue. Very average and expensive. Found the pillows uncomfortable and room hot. Meal in restaurant very expensive and food mediocre!! Couldn't sleep so went down to the reception and on a positive note the night Manager was very helpful

This was my second visit and it was as good as the first. Beds very comfortable, food excellent, rooms clean but it is the staff that make this such a pleasant place to stay - very friendly and helpful, especially when we went on the hunt for more tea bags and milk!
