Me and my family go every Christmas to this hotel and it is so welcoming! The staff are lovely, attentive and helpful. The rooms are great for people with big or small families. Can’t wait to go back this Christmas!

We stayed at the hotel on the night of our wedding. I telephoned in the morning to confirm the reservation was all OK, and to explain that we would be arriving to check in at the end of our wedding day. The lady I spoke to kindly confirmed the details and explained that she would note us down as a late arrival. It would have been nice however if she had in some way acknowledged our special day!
Likewise, when we arrived to check-in at around 00:45am , the gentleman at reception who processed our details very kindly explained directions to the room and timing of breakfast etc. But it would have been nice if he'd at least acknowledged with a 'congratulations' of some sort, which would seem the natural response to offer when a bride and groom turn up at your hotel! As a result, we found the experience rather impersonal and somewhat disappointing, and would recommend passing on this feedback to the front desk staff.

The hotel is in a good location with all facilities and has a good circulation area albeit stairs everywhere. The food is adequate but the menu is limited. The rooms are comfy but tired, torn wallpaper, dirty windows, dirty toilet, shower and bath edges etc. Room service is lacking, I ended up having to go to reception for missing things on the hospitality tray.

Great Hotel, Efficient, Friendly Colleagues, Great Food. Plenty of Parking.

Why should a review be a minimum of 200 words, perhaps you would get more reviews if people could just say How Good You Are.

We recently held a family reunion at the hotel. There were over 100 people attending with many staying over the weekend. Lots of pre-planning with the sales team who were always happy to meet with me. The event on the night ran like clockwork, good food and excellent staff. A particular mention for the event manager Mark who couldn’t do enough for us. There were a couple of little hiccups over the weekend which is the only reason I’ve knocked a star off. However these were followed up. It’s refreshing to find a hotel who welcomed all feedback in an effort to improve and I would definitely use the hotel again and recommend holding an event there.

Great location for our needs at that moment in time as my wife and I( who now live in the south of England) were visiting family living in Bolton Staff, as one would expect from Bolton, were some of the friendliest people you could wish to meet. We only had breakfast at the hotel but were very satisfied with the quality. Our stay was slightly let down by the fact that the air condition was out of action on what was a very hot 3 days in May and the patio windows to the actual pitch area were locked for security reasons. The staff did open the doors for me but with the strict request that we did not venture out onto the open balcony whish gives access to the pitch area. This was understood and not a problem. There was an electric fan in the room but this seemed to have a mind of its own and would either go at supersonic speed or decide to take time out. Overall, we were more than happy with our stay at the Hotel and would certainly consider returning at a future date.

We have stayed on a match day before now and we are local to Bolton and this stay was because our home was being decorated. The main reason we personally wouldn't book again is The seating area in the standard twin we had doesn't really cater for the larger person or indeed 2 people. Check out Blackpool FC standard twins.(we have stayed here many times) 2 x comfier seats. A twin is clearly going to be occupied by 2 people. Bolton whites hotel is not alone in this but why does one guest get a stool or chair. This always baffles me but like I say, you are by no means alone in this. The rooms are a little dated but cleanliness cant be faulted. Towel rail looked worse for wear. Showers need upgrading in my opinion but not major problem for us for 2 nights. Also, no plugs by the bed meant we had to go and get an extension as we needed to plug in a sleep apnoea machine. Nothing majorly concerned us though and overall for the price paid on a Saturday and Sunday night we were Satisfied in the main. The other thing I would say and I believe an area where maybe the hotel could be losing money is the pricing of food and beverages. We would definitely have had more food and drinks if they reflected Bolton more. £28 for a mixed grill is madness. Im sure people with more money to spend may pay this but your average Joe wont. There are many more preferable options around the middlebrook. Lucianos is just up the steps behind the stadium and they do a lasagne for £8.55. against your £14.00. We did eat an omelette that seamed the best value on your menu and it was OK. If the price points had been a little more reflective of Bolton we would have spent a lot more and eaten all our meals in the hotel as we always do at Blackpool FC (rowleys). We are used to paying slightly more but feel maybe another option for more affordable food should be looked at. In no way do my comments represent a complaint. It is what it is and in the main your hotel served our purpose satisfactorily.
